Highland Copper Company Inc. is a Canadian mining company focused on exploring and developing copper projects within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, U.S.A. The Upper Peninsula is well known for hosting significant concentrations of copper in copper-dominated deposits. During its productive period, from 1845 to 1977, the area produced in excess of 11 billion pounds of copper.
Highland's projects include the 100% owned Copperwood advanced-stage project, the White Pine North project (subject to final closing expected to occur by the end of 2015) and an option to acquire a 65% interest in the Keweenaw projects. Mineral resource estimates have been published for the Copperwood and Keweenaw deposits. Highland is completing the work necessary to verify the historical resource estimate at White Pine North. Highland also has initiated a pre-feasibility study combining the White Pine North, Copperwood and Keweenaw copper deposits with the aim of maximizing synergies, minimizing development costs and reducing overall environmental impact.
