Highland Copper Company Inc. is a Canadian mining company focused on exploring and developing copper projects within the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, U.S.A. Highland's portfolio of projects includes the recently acquired Copperwood advanced-stage project, as well as the White Pine North project and the Keweenaw project. A feasibility study was completed by the previous owner of the Copperwood project in 2012 and a significant historical resource estimate has been outlined at the White Pine North project by the previous operator in 1995.

The Upper Peninsula of Michigan is well known for hosting significant concentrations of copper in copper-dominated deposits. During its productive period, from 1845 to 1977, the area produced in excess of 11 billion pounds of copper. It is one of the major copper mining districts in the United States and is truly worthy of the term, the "Copper Country".
